Wine
I'm about to go to the store, so a quick response would be nice. I was wondering what type of wine would go best with a pipe, specifically a bowl of Squadron Leader that I am planning on having later. If you don't think wine will do the drink, what else can you recommend. Thanks.

Re: Wine
How about a fortified wine like Port or Sherry. Short of that, maybe a Cabernet.

Re: Wine
Coppola (yes, that Coppola) red Claret 1910 type wine tends to alert the same tastebuds that are critical for the enjoyment of some English and English/Balkan blends. Claret wines should be good, I think, as they are not that heavy.
Personally, I seldom drink wine while smoking a pipe. I prefer Guinness, particularly when smoking Penzance. They seem to go well together IMO. ![]() |
