Great Customer service

I had to share this experience. Last Friday afternoon I decided to place an impulse order with PipesandCigars for some tobacco I have not tried (1792) and to stock up on some of my favorites. I just bought some nice jars and am looking to fill them as well as start to cellar some tins now that I am home.

Anyway, Monday I get an e-mail that my order shipped...Great! On closer examination I see the Squadron Leader was out of stock. Oh wel,l I thought after just sticking up for them on another thread earlier in the week.

Package arrives today and everything is in order with the exception of two items.
1. There is a bulk bag (approx 50g) of Squadron Leader at no charge
2. A sample pouch of Mac Baren dark twist roll cake with a sticker on it "with our compliments"

The funny thing is I really wanted to order bulk SL in the first place so I could jar it, but went with the tin as the bulk showed out of order.

I know Pipesand Cigars have messed up some orders for some in the past and may need o work on the inventory process, but this is my 5th order in the past year and they have been great job for me everytime.

Just want to publicly give them kudos when it is due.

Yes, they are very prompt. They followed up with an inquiry I had within a day. I wonder what it's like working in shipping surrounded by all that yummy smelling tobacco?

P&C had a few problems awhile back, mostly with impatient customers I believe. I've ordered from them and would gladly do so again, great service!

Scottie (owner) is all about Service. I would be surprised if there were many problems with his stores.

As mentined they have always done right by me. I continue to show my support by going to them for all my online purchases.

I did send them am e-mail as well as I am sure the customer service people here their share of complaints, so I wanted make sure they heard some good news.

I also asked as question and had a response frst thing this morning.

When you dont follow up with someone in the store who holds the power to get things done,,,,I have learned that you usually don't get a level of service that you deserve. Any time I make a call to any business I ALWAYS ask to speak to a supervisor or owner so they get my story one time,,,not 3 times because the first person wasn't able to take care of the issue in the first place. The order filler or secretary is usually multi tasking so many things that the propensity of getting your issue resolved right the first time is a 50/50 proposition at best. Save your Blood Pressure status and just ask to speak to the head honcho,,,tell em your problem,,,have him call you back when they resolve it and you are good to go. Sometimes you have to think outside your nine dots to get things done without coming to a boiling point with the business. Owners are usually more on the ball than the people who work for them.
