This doesn't really deserve its own thread but thinking about the potential wrath from all of you and the mods, if I were to post it in the Photos Of Pipes thread - well - the fear made me shiver so...here we are.

Nice little piece me thinks.
Got it off eBay. For a nice $10 buckeroos and 49 cents! Yes Sir!
Kinda very mildly stoked at the price.

Thats a good question. It holds none.
This particular design does not lend itself well to holding pipes.
The main reason I got it is because of the cork & also because it will sit on my main table in backyard, once I am done doing some work back there.
The Cork is pretty key. I have been dealing with the palm and what not to dislodge remnants and a cork is needed.

I have spent the past few weeks looking for decent pipe ashtrays that take care of everything.

This was a weird one on eBay.
Stands less than 4" high. Couldn't really figure out how pipes would sit properly in there without the stem and or bowl being scrapped on whatever surface the ashtray would sit on.

Also bought myself a few pipe stands for under $1.

And....just because its such a good deal, smokingpipes.com is selling this Mac Baren Ashtray with 3 pipe rests built in for $15. From what I have seen from everywhere, eBay etc... thats a screaming deal and would recommend others to jump in if an ashtray is needed.

eBay has a similar ashtray with the Zippo logo on it and a cork inside. I imagine though that the cork in that one was simply crazy glued on. This Mac Baren seems to be proper.

It looks like the stem or bowl would rest on the little indents on the holder itself (the lil porcelain triangular indents), no?

The other one looks great! Wonder if one could find something similar in wood w/o logos...

Remember in high school shop class when everyone would make an ashtray cuz it was assumed everyone's parents smoked?

That is nice. The pipe rests around the rim are a feature I don't see often.

Today's prize for me was an empty 14 oz Prince Albert tin (metal) in immaculate condition at an antique mall. Got it for $3.95. Seal buster included. Don't know how to date the thing.

Thats pretty funny dajones. Yah, I remember. I made a few of 'em.
I also would rather do without the logos. I do like Golden Extra so thats something.
