Had a pipe dream the other night

For some reason I just thought of this. I have never smoked a pipe in my life but the other night I had a dream in which I lit up a pipe and puffed on it for a few minutes. Very realistic - I can still remember clenching the stem in my teeth and feeling very dignified.

Anybody ever find pipes and cigars invading their dreams!?

I believe Dr. Freud catalogued and interpreted a few. But then again he said, "Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar." (Freud smoked cigars.)

Omigosh. I had a dream like that a couple nights ago. I was smoking a church warden. It's all I remember.

Just FYI: There's no evidence Freud every uttered that line. Scholars say he never wrote it, and it seems to have been connected to his lectures at Clark University and may have been attributed to the doctor by either a student or audience member. But just as the line about the coldest winter being summer in San Francisco is wrongly attributed to Mark Twain, this one just won't seem to die.

Its just your subconscious mind doing its best to talk to your conscious self.
You obviously want to try pipes and see what all the fuss about.
If you do end up doing it, a strong recommendation would be to sample some cigar blends like GL Pease Robusto. You'll experience a whole new 'everything' when you light some of that tobacco up. You will likely also enjoy the fact that 4 ounces of the stuff costs less than $10.

It appears to be one of those apocryphal statements that just seems like the person should have said it, so much so that we're inclined to automatically accept it. It's somewhat similar to the way quotes often get twisted and repeated so often the incorrect version comes to be accepted as correct. "Play it again, Sam," is probably the most famous. It's never said that way in "Casablanca." Or "Elementary, my dear Watson," which was never written that way by Arthur Conan Doyle in any of the Sherlock Holmes stories (though it was used in an early Sherlock Holmes film).

That 'automatically accepts it' idea is actually a chronic element in most of our social thought. Not just famous quotes.

Tonight I had a very strange pipe dream...
I was in the middle of some car race, participating, but smoking the pipe was also involved in the competition, or at least I was going to smoke while the car was on the pit stop.
The strangest thing is that my pipe was, in fact, a tree! For some reason, it seamed right to put the tobacco in a little hole in the tree, and puff through another hole... it made a lot of smoke and I remember a very aqward taste... and remembeer to think that the tree wasn´t, obvsiously, very clean...

it was a short dream and I woke right after, I think, and made sure I would remember it to tell you guys.

Here's mine.

I'm lying on a chaise lounge on the deck of my yacht, puffing away. Lo and behold, here comes my wife Angelina Jolie holding a pre-transition Barling and a Bo Nordh along with a 40 year old tin of Escudo. She says after I smoke a couple of bowls, we should go inside and get naked. First thing's first, naturally.
