Penzance or Westminster???Need Feedback.

Dear fellow members it has been 10 years that I have been smoking the pipe. I tried almost all the brands there are to offer within Canada. My problem is that there are so many other choices in the USA. I mostly smoke english blends. My personal favorite to date is squadron leader.I have read on tobaccoreviews.com all the hype about Esoterica Tobacciana-Penzance and GL Pease- Westminster. It's a shame that these companies do not sell to Canada. I wish to purchase one of these tobacco's in bulk, but am unsure which one. I know that with duty fees, etc it will cost me a bit, but I will save alot. A tin of 50gram tobacco here is 23$. For 8 ounces(480grams) of penzance is 25$, go figure. I would like your feedback on which one I should purchase in bulk. thanks

To me they are different enough that I can smoke westminster anytime, especially mornings. PenZance is an evening smoke. For your situation I'd say go with the Westy. It has a building crescendo of depth and flavors. PenZ to me at least, starts heavy and goes heavier.

One you left out, that I would whole heartedly recommend, is GLP Abingdon. Depending on the pipe that can be a flavor bomb ranging from hand grenade to a tactical nuke. Given the three to pick from, I'd take Abingdon if I could have but one!

I'd go with Westminster. They're both very nice and flavorful, but Westminster tastes like the each flavor is naturally coming from the tobacco, and to me Penzance tastes like it was perfumed or something.

Personally, I prefer Penzance. But Westminster is also among my top five baccy. Given the recent availability problems with Penzance, however, I would go for Westie if I were you, at least as the initial choice. You can't go wrong with Westminster and you can order it in 8oz cans (not packages), so you can buy one and keep the other one aging a bit right in the can - for a while at least, depending how often and how much you smoke. I love Westminster in the morning with my coffee. That said, it can be an all day smoke as well.
I go with Westminster.
