Just doesn't taste the same now

Here I sit, with my fav everyday tobacco (PA) in my fav MM cob (a Country Gentleman) and it just doesn't taste the same to me right now.

I guess it could be that my darling grand-babies, my daughter, and her hubby just left for home a little while ago after visiting since Friday. The house is too quiet, no cartoons on the TV, and our cat doesn't have to hide any longer, and even my favorite tobacco & pipe combo seems........ well, just a little less than I remember.

Don't mind me, I'm just in lonely Grand-Pa mode.

Sounds like a good time to experiment with something new. Or not. Lonely Grandpa mode can be a pain!

Funny how quite it can get when everyone leaves. You keep waiting for some noise.
It'll pass.

Been there often. No pipe or tobacco can quell those feelings of funky emotional letdown and emptyness. Just keep puffing through it. Keep on trucking.

Re: Just doesn't taste the same now

Actually, PA usually taste off to me, but lately, I've had some less desirable family members living with us (guess that is the price you pay for living at home while working towards college) and PA in a cob has been a nice escape for me.

Mix it with some Granger. Granger and PA compliment each other nicely. It makes for a nutty, sweet, occasionally chocolaty smoke.

Re: Just doesn't taste the same now

Funny how it seems parents cannot wait for them to grow and move out, then when it happens you are like where did they go. My oldest is 12, I saw him at x-mas and then again at the end of May when I returned from deployment. No exageration he had grow close to 3 inches and the voice had changed. It all happens way to fast...where did my babies go.
