A couple of thank you's!!!!

After starting up in the cigars section, I eventually made my way down to this end of the forum. At first, it was just casual browsing. Then I started really reading the FAQs and stickied threads. All of this peaked my interested. I decided I wanted to try the pipe.

Well, one problem. I live in the middle of nowhere. Literally. Its about 250 miles to the closest tobbaccoist or even a drugstore. So I posted a WTB thread. First off, thank you to all those who responded either in that thread or by PM. But there are a couple of you I'm gonna single out.

Vrbas was the first to contact me, by PM. He offered to send me a starter kit for free. I asked what I could send him to return the favor. He said nothing. So here's a start. Thank you so much for you wonderful gift. In addition to a cob pipe, pipe nail, matches, and samples, he sent me a detailed sheet describing the tobaccos he sent and notes about smoking them. As a n00b this is very helpful.


rlaliberty contacted me as well. He had a estate briar he was getting rid of for a song, so I couldn't turn it down. He also included some very generous samples and a pipe nail and a large bundle of pipe cleaners.


And thanks to DublinintheDam's youtube vids (and the others that are on there). Not having a real life expert at my disposal, these vids have been great for learning.

Once again, thanks for the info and looking forward to enjoying a good smoke!
