Do I need to wait?

Well I am enjoying some wilshire blend in my cob(my only pipe) right now and would like to have another bowl later on tonight. Do I need to wait a whole day before I smoke out of it again like I would have to with another pipe, or so I have read. Or can I go ahead and pack it again tonight?

Thanks for the help all.

Re: Do I need to wait?

I've had no problem smoking a cob a couple of times in the same day.

Re: Do I need to wait?

I'd say due to the relatively inexpensive price of cobs, combined with the fact that they seem to be relatively resilient, smoking it a couple of times a day would probably be just fine!

Though I probably wouldn't suggest the same with the more expensive pipes thats just this newbies' opinion!

Re: Do I need to wait?

You should be OK. Let it cool off and run a cleaner through it before reloading. The worse that can happen with repeated smoking is pipe gurgle from too much condensate. In that case, run a cleaner through it while smoking but let it dry out for a day or two after you're finished. As others say, it's a cob. Designed to be used, abused, and dropped wet. So I wouldn't worry to much.

Re: Do I need to wait?

I've smoked my cob a few times throughout the day before. The main thing, as I understand it, is to just let it cool down between smokes. Definitely run a cleaner through it after each smoke as you would with any other pipe.

Re: Do I need to wait?

I know this is a post from yesterday but what the hell....I may smoke a briar a couple three times in a day, I always let it cool first, and generally let it rest a couple a days afterward but still....a cob... I say smoke the crap out of it ....it recovers quicker and their cheep. Just my .02.
