Too hot...

Here in California's central valley the temps have been up into the 110 degree mark, I don't know about anyone else but its just too hot to enjoy a good pipe while sweating like a slave either outside or in the garage, even at 10pm it can still be 90 degrees or so. Today wasn't bad, only got to 96.

Re: Too hot...

Lived there done that! I lived in Visalia and the weather is so uncomfortable in the summer you just want to die. Even with a pool I had there it is unbearable. I wouldn't live there in the summer period. My head hurts just thinking about how hot it gets there.

Re: Too hot...

Ouch that sucks. It can get pretty hot here sometimes, but it's usually the humidity that gets you. Leads to many wet smokes. Luckily for me it's been pretty mild summer here

Re: Too hot...

I hear ya! I live in northern Cal. around San Fran. and its been pretty damn hot the past few weeks.

However! I was living out in South Dakota, where in the summer it did get into the 100's but the winters!!!!! Holy hell!!!! It regularly got 10-50 below zero with 30-50 mph winds. Theres NO WAY your gonna enjoy a smoke out there for at least 2-3 months outta the year.

My condolences to those that live in the Midwest. I'll gladly take the hot Cali sun!

Re: Too hot...

I'll be going back to the Philippines once my job is done here in Ak. I'm wondering how the heat/humidity will affect my smoking since I won't be able to dry out my tobacco as much as I like. Thank God for Savinelli pipes and balsa filters.

Re: Too hot...

I know where you're coming from. Florida gets too hot and sticky to lounge around outside smoking...at least for a Pennsylvania transplant like me. I use to really enjoy an outdoor smoke back in PA...now I'm pretty much relegated to indoor smoking, at least during the summer months.

Re: Too hot...

We've had a mild summer here in Wisconsin. Currently it is 65 degrees outside. Unheard of for this time of year. Otherwise, if it's unbareably hot and sticky outside, I find a good cigar to be soothing.

Re: Too hot...

Wow yeah that's just way TOO hot! I'm in So Cal and have another place near Kingman, AZ in the mountains at 5600' so the elevation keeps the summer temps moderate (90's usually for highs in summer). I don't like excessive heat I'm the first one to tell you. But humidity is even worse, so if I had to choose I'll take the high desert here in the southwest.

Re: Too hot...

I can relate to that. I moved here in Eastern Oregon from Louisiana; the temperature's about the same, but the humidity really makes a difference. Plus, it cools down at night here nicely.
