What to do with cheap bulk?
So....
I came into a 2 lb bag of Consolidated 1-m, described thus: A blend of Burley, Virginia and world famous Green River Black Cavendish, expertly blended for the utmost in taste then topped with a secret flavoring recipe to achieve outstanding flavor and aroma. The big question... Can I improve this by throwing in a 1.5 oz bag of PA, a 1.5 oz bag of Carter Hall, and 2 oz of straight golden Virginia? Cut down on the sweetness and add some depth? Maybe 2 or 4 oz of Perique? |

Re: What to do with cheap bulk?
First, I'd try it as is to see what it's like. Then, depending on what you like/dislike about it, I'd decide what to do with it.
If you've done this and want to do as you described... "Cut down on the sweetness and add some depth"..... I would cut it 50/50 with PA or some other non-sweetened tobacco you do like, even possibly a VA. It's most likely the Cavendish adding the over-powering sweet taste and that's what needs to be cut down.
