Re: Blending with PA and CH
My regular smoke is a 50/50 blend of PA and MacBaren HH Mature Virginia. I love this stuff.

Re: Blending with PA and CH
PA will add a great burn to a tobacco that normally has troubles and makes a good mix for tobaccos that are a little overly moist, plus it lends a nice Burley tone to the mix.
CH will do the same thing as well as add a hint of sweetness. Both make great mixers.

Re: Blending with PA and CH
I had some decent success with PA and McClellands Dark Star. I had to rub the DS into infinity to make the burn similar but the PA did exactly what Dale said... it made it burn better and added some burley density. The mix reminds me of Stonehaven to a degree. I couldn't finish the Dark Star because I couldn't get it to hold a light.
A better but similar mix might be PA and Rattray's Black Virginia since the cuts are more similar. |

Re: Blending with PA and CH
I like mixing a little burley with 1792, my personal preference is Velvet. I love the way it mellows it, while adding it's nutty taste. I'm sure PA or CH would work well also.
Note to self, try mixing 1792 with Aged Burley Flake.

Re: Blending with PA and CH
I just mixed up an ounce of FVF/PA to try. I set it back until I finish my current stash of HHMV/PA, which should only take a couple more days. If it turns out good, I'll order a few more pounds of the FVF to set back. I've got plenty of PA for mixing, I just need to stock up a little more on the Virginias.

If you like Aro's.... Yes, I do smoke a couple..... PA as a mixer works wonders.

Hmm....MellowMack was a little too aromatic for me, that's a good idea to mellow it out....no pun intended.

half Granger, half Prince Albert. Provides for a sweet, nutty and occasionally chocolate taste.
For best results, smoke in cob.

I couldn't see any good reason to wait so I'm smoking a bowl of the FVF/PA mix in a cob right now. Very tasty indeed.

Re: Blending with PA and CH
Actually I've tried mixing PA and CH together. I thought I found something different but then I tried Kentucky Club and found someone beat me to it. Maybe if I added a little H&H..... I've got half pint jars full of failures.
