Finally got around to making my 5th pipe
Having passed on my last pair of pipes to friends for their critique I finally found some motivation to work on my 5th project. With this one I went dublin and rustic and after the first bowl I have to say its a pretty good smoker, and I'm starting to gain confidence in reworking these premolded stems

That is in the research phase at the moment. Rustication was easy..... I learned as I did it................ took about 15 minutes start to finish

5 3/4" (145mm) long, 2 1/8" (53mm) tall, 1 5/8" (42mm) bowl diameter, and a 15/16" (22mm) chamber. The inches are correct and I think the MMs are too if I'm seeing straight this time of morning

Not yet Al, but once I get a few more things down I'm planning on it. This was the first I used a customized bit to drill the airway and mortise together. Next I need to make one for countersinking and leveling the end of the shank where it meets the stem and also something for precisely turning the tenon to size. I'm not expecting much free time in the next few months but that'll give me time to roll things over and by winter I should have everything in order, maybe even sooner.

Keep me and the rest of us updated. I admire and am a bit jealous of the work you have done. It must take a good deal of time. I wish I had the skill. Very nice work indeed.
