Favorite Burley?

I've been smoking Solani Aged Burley Flake a LOT lately, I just can't get enough of it! I love how chocolatey & nutty it is, & how it has a great sweet but very rich flavor.

Just wondering if anyone knows anything else of the same caliber as this stuff?

There's Wessex Burley Slice. Personally I think they're the same but devotees think otherwise.

Re: Favorite Burley?

I've very fond of Solani aged burley flake myself. A bit on the high priced side but it appears to be on sale at a couple of places right now. Other than that I stick with PA for most of my burley fixes.

For Burley's, my choice is a number of OTC's... PA, CH, etc.

Re: Favorite Burley?

Thanks for the suggestions guys! Looks like I've got a few to try.

Anyone ever tried Haunted Bookshop? It looks interesting since it's mostly Burley, but with Virginia & Perique.

The Solani is my 2nd favorite after Gawith & Hoggarth's Kendal Kentucky. It's a variety of African dark-fired burleys and its quite strong but it has excellent flavor. The Haunted Bookshop I didn't care much for

We are experiencing quite a range of favorite burley here.

What the heck. I never even bothered to mention how much I like Grand Marnier-soaked Manassas burley blend from Old Virginia Tobacco Co., now discontinued.

It looks like I found it for sale. Is this it?

It's still on their site, but who knows if it's actually in stock.

Yes, that's it. FWIW I tried a couple of other blends in their series of civil war named tobaks. A couple of them tasted like soldiers socks to me. Feh.

Manassas is a treat for me since - it's about the only aromatic I ever smoke. The flavor is rich burley and sweet, the fill is easy, no bite and a winning room note according to Mrs. Moo who, generally speaking, isn't a room note kind of person. She prefers I leave the room note out on the porch but, with Manassas, she likes it in the house or even in the car.

Hmm you make it sound so tasty, I may have to get some just to see.

I noticed that you're the only one who reviewed it on TR, must have been one of those baccys that slipped under the radar eh?

Now why did you have to get my interest and then go and say it's discontinued? That's like standing in line for an ice creme cone in the hot sun only to find out they ran out by the time your turn came along.
