Thanks for all the positive comments. The pipe smokes great. A big chamber and an open airway seem to be a cool smoking combination. I learned last night while working on another pipe these briar burls are like a big chunk of parmesan cheese. Essentially if you look at the rustication, that's about how the wood looks as it crumbles. For trimming waste a chisel and a hammer just found a happy home in my little shop.
