How many tins do you have open right now?
I'm trying mighty hard to keep the amount of open tins to a minimum, but I think maybe I'm overdoing it. I go through maybe two ounces or so a week (I think; it's hard to tell, you know?), and currently have four tins open. However, I just finished one tin yesterday and it was still fresh and moist; maybe I'm being too cautious. Maybe I'm just looking for an excuse to pop open that FVF!

So how many do you have open? How many open tins make you worry about having too many open?

I think I have 8 or 9 open right now, & I always worry about them drying out, but haven't had any problems thus far.

Probably 15 to 20 open containers at this time. Between jars, ziplocks and the original tins - I have no problem with dried out stock. I just get in the mood for something, and like it to be open, rested, and available for consumption at all times

Note that most blends require a week, or two, or more; to settle down after tin-popping and get into a good smokable condition. As my cellar (along with me) gets older, I find the older the tin, the more time it needs to settle down after being reintroduced to air.

I stopped worrying about my tins drying out several months ago. I probably have 20 - 30 tins open and some of those have been open for quite a while.

Ditto - its reasonably easy to re-hydrate that one tin which you accidentaly left wide open for a month behind your computer monitor.

Hmm....maybe I don't have to be worried about my open tins drying out. I guess best case. they require less drying time before smoking, and worst case, I'll have to re-hydrate them.

In the last few weeks I've been "working" on finishing some tins. This week was the end for SL, Capstan Gold and EMP tins.
Now that only 4 are open, it's time to pop 2 or 3 new ones.

What did you think of the Capstan? I've wanted to try Med Navy Flake as it was the tobacco Tolkien smoked.
