It finally happened!

My wife commented on my smoke last night. She said "whatever you're smoking now doesn't smell as bad as what you normally do".

I think she's coming around.

Unfortunately is something I bought at my local B&M called "Private Reserve", I'm not sure if it's an in house blend (doubtful) or something they get in bulk and rename (very likely).

It's a very dark Cavendish that isn't too sweet, and has a very light vanilla/mocha room note to it. I like it from time to time and it's not as gooey as most.

My wife is very supportive of my smoking, she even made a pipe rack from carton and leather!!
I guess I'm happy in this respect..

My wife is tolerant of the pipe, and completely intolerant of the cigar. I smoke both outside on the porches. She may well come outside for a chat if I have a pipe, but a cigar is the sure way to be left to my own thoughts for an hour.

I use that to my advantage. But then, I can always take a walk with the pipe and have to world to my own.

My wife is indifferent with either the pipe or the cigar. I rarely smoke a cigar in the house, and then it's when no one is home and I'm sitting by a window with a fan on high, usually while watching a movie.

With the pipe I can or do smoke in the house near a open/cracked window, with very little complaints. My main concern is my grandson and 2nd hand smoke.

My wife smokes cigarettes so if there were any complaints from her they would be utterly moot. However she doesn't mind the pipe at all so it's a non-issue. I smoke anywhere in the house.

My GF enjoys the fact I smoke pipes but is alarmed at the collection I am massing, so I made her a deal, since all my pipes have been bought off Ebay and are vintage, I told her to go down to the shop down the street which had a decent selection of Stanwells Petersons And Sasinii, most for around 50$. Buy me a NEW pipe I told her, and I'll stop collecting old ones... Sometimes little white lies go a long way.
