How do you find so many pipes you like? I had really hard time picking out my briar, even though it was a basket one...

And it took me close to an hour to pick my meer...

The only easy choice was the cob, haha.

For me, and for many others I believe, it comes from searching, for many hours, in the internet.
If you regularly visit the online stores, or e-bay, or carvers websites, you'll most probably find a lot more pipes you would like to have then those allowed by your budget.

So true, so true...

I currently have eight pipes and don't smoke them very often, so at this point a 12-pipe rotation would be a generous plenty.

That would be awesome! Any idea as to how many posts I need until I can do pms? Or can I already? *Sorry for the off topic post*

Re: Rotation - how long should your rack really be?

I have four pipes, two estate peterson 303 systems one for latakia blends and the other for Va, VaPer and Burley blends. The other two are for aromatics and experimentation.

I smoke both my petersons once a day, usually FVF to wake and perk me up in the morning and latakia in the evnings.

Other two pipes are used when i have my occasional urge for an aromatic or when i want to experimet with my own mixtures. And also when my petersons have too much moisture left from previous bowls. They really taste like crap if they haven't dried enough.

Four is no way enough, i plan to buy few cheap cobs for daily use, but there isn't any available in finland, at least not in online stores.

Only three so far, one Peterson 303, one cheap meerschaum lined starter pipe and an old pipe (small) I used in the army years ago because I was poor and pipe tobacco was cheaper than cigarettes.

I guess I'd like to have 6-12 pipes for rotation.
