Public smoking spin-off: In your town, where do you go to smoke?

My back yard or out for a walk in the neighborhood is about it around here. Anywhere else and it is either against the law or there is someone nearby who'll invariably complain.

it could also be because some of the laws may require it... oddly enough, on the Missouri side of the border of Kansas City, a place we go to requires a membership, so we're allowed to smoke there (but it had to be membership based before the law passed).

it's getting pretty stupid over here. the private business owners should be allowed to make their own business decisions, and if customers don't come due to smoking, then it's the price that business owner will have to pay.
it's ridiculous that some laws won't even allow people to smoke INSIDE a cigar or pipe shop, but they'll allow you to smoke in tightly packed casinos??

I only smoke at home, although I smoked at work during lunch before it turned cold. Maybe I should do my bit and stroll downtown with a pipe on my days off (I work evenings, hence the restriction), just to see what happens. At the very least, in a town this size (12,000) it might be enough to reach 'local character' status!
