Public smoking spin-off: In your town, where do you go to smoke?

I have 2 places I can go out and have a smoke in public.....for a while anyway, and then it becomes ONE.

1st there is a dive bar up the block from my home in Leesburg, VA called the King's Court. The food ain't that great, the beer is only passable, but you can smoke a pipe at will.

2nd is the Hamburg Doener. Can't puff inside, but they have a large patio which is cigar and pipe friendly. I hope the patio there doesn't fall under the jurisdiction of the up coming smoke ban.

I am usually in the man cave, but I did find a decent Irish Pub called The Harp Inn.

being married w/ a kid, i don't get out much at night for a smoke other than my back yard. i'm in a small town outside KC that hasn't adopted any smoke-nazi laws yet, although the local places do a good enough job of that on their own.
there is a mexican place i go to for lunch, but i can never tell when they'll have a "party" in their bar side of the building where they allow pipes, so i don't bring one with (although i should).

right now, the KC crew gets together at a biker bar once a month.
luckily, i just found out last week that there will be a cigar bar/wine bar opening up in town next spring, will have to try and go there often (we don't have any B&Ms close to where i live - between my work and residence - this one will be on the drive to/from work).

Now that winter is coming, I am urgently seeking out places to smoke without freezing. We are making one of my friend's basement into something of a mancave/smoking lounge. Aside from that I am scouting out other indoor smoking options.

My outdoor smoking takes place all over.

I go to the sanctity of my own mancave... a 5th bedroom that I turned into my smoking/music listening room. I'm not married and my 3 kids all have their own space. The rule is that if they do not want to smell pipesmoke, they keep their little asses out of dad's space!

All you guys with a mancave are making me jealous. I don't own the house I live in and the lease even goes so far as to specify no smoking on the PROPERTY.

The rocking chair in the living room is where I call home. I'll go so far as to crack the window to be fair to the rest, they don't complain though.

Outside of the home, my local B&M is about it.

I have a 12x40 covered carport thats open on the sides execpt for the side against the house. I am in the midst of putting up some thick visqueen over some wood framework to block the wind and cold out during the winter. I have 3 dogs, 2 have short fur and this is to keep them fairly warm in the winter. Then I got to thinking.......... this is going to be an excellent place to smoke this winter. So I am going to put alot more effort into strength and functionabliilty. May post up a few pics on my "Temporary man cave". I'd like to make it a permanent fixture (enclosure) to the house; but the house is in my gf's name; and Im not sure how much longer I'll be sticking around (buncha BS).

But as far as any place in my town, nope! We have not the first smoking ban, but still have no decent B&Ms or lounges.

You can't even smoke in B&Ms in this state so the only public venues open to smoking are on Indian land. I stop by the casino that's about 10 minutes away on occasion but usually smoke cigars there since they have a fairly decent cigar bar and humidor.

I smoke in my basement bar. Nebraska has passed the no smoking in any establishment policy so no smoking in bars unless they have a beer garden.

I smoke in my finished attic. Ohio has a total smoking ban and the only places that are exempt are the B&Ms that existed prier to the ban. However the only real tobacco shop that is near me charges $5 to sit in the lounge and smoke, even after you drop and hundred bucks for his products. So I don't go much just because that pisses me off.

Damn, that's a ridiculous business policy.

Yeah it is pretty ridiculous, he has the best cigar stock within 25 miles of me, so it's frustrating. There is a pipe shop that is really close but they only have 2 or 3 chairs, but I think those are kept only two old guys that are sitting in them every time I go in there.

When I smoke outside Im usually either on my luch break or waiting for my son at the bus stop, Ive tried smoking in bars but I find it to boistrous to really enjoy the smoke and I actually lost a pipe that way once! There is a local spot on the river where I like to go have a nice long smoke up on the levee and watch the ships go in and out of the nearby locks, however I was approached by a cop once while doing this, he thought I was smoking pot
