Looking for suggestions

I don't know what to try next. I have a few favorites, but only limited availability with my local B/M, so I am open to mail order. Not looking for anything loaded with latakia, I have PLENTY of stuff like that. I am open to lightly cased high grade aros. I find I am leaning toward lightly sweet buttery/vanilla flavors, but with a good base tobacco. I have been trolling through tobaccoreviews.com, but nothing is jumping out at me.

Re: Looking for suggestions

Give Boswell's website a look-see. The Butternut Burley is good stuff. www.boswellpipes.com

For a little less, Prince Albert's Soft Vanilla is also good. There are some good blends out there that fit your "lightly sweet buttery/vanilla" description very well.

Re: Looking for suggestions

I would suggest MacBaren's Vanilla Cream Loose Cut. Creamy and nice vanilla flavor. Pretty easy on the tongue too! You can get a 100gm tin for less than $8. McClelland Vanilla Black Cavendish is very good. Very tasty without being too sweet and it's bite-free.Not a lot of natural tobacco flavor coming through though but still good for when you need a little sweet treat. Makes a very good blending tobacco to tame some blends that are a little harsh or too spicy.

Where does one find a 100g tin of MacBaren Vanilla Cream Loose Cut for $8?! I have wanted to try it but have not yet because the tin is $18 and my B&M.

Re: Looking for suggestions

Boswell's is a good suggestion. I particularly like their Christmas Cookie, as well as their Berry Cobbler. MacBaren's Vanilla Cream is pretty decent as well.

I've not had Butternut Burley, but I know it has a loyal following. I just cracked my tin of Autumn Evening by C&D and it smells awesome - I'll have some tonight and let you know if you should add it to the list.

And here's a Mac B link for $9.50 - the $8+ one is out of stock http://www.pipesandcigars.com/macvancream.html

Yes $18! I typed it correctly. At the place I go to all of their 50g are $14andchange and all of their 100s are $18andchange. I like to patronize the B&Ms cause I don't want to see them all go away, but there really is only so much I am willing to pay for the personal service and the fact that I can smoke inside them.
