Falcon pipes

I was browsing ebay looking for Peterson pipes and ran into this brand of pipes. The description says

Quote:
Clever design of pipe with a reservoir beneath the bowl to trap tar and an engineered space to let the correct amount of smoke (but no tobacco) to pass through. A special aluminium humidome cools the smoke by condensation.

The central cooling tube is made from aluminium only .008" thick, yet incredibly strong. This allows the smoke to be cooled even further before reaching the sealed mouthpiece.

As well as the clever modern design of stem, the bowls are made of seasoned briar - important to avoid the harsh tatse of cheap unseasoned wood that is used in many unbranded pipes on offer today.
and also that they are the #1 sold pipes in the world.

Does anyone of you have experiences with these? Does the "system" work? I can't make my mind up if they look good or ugly. The prices seem reasonable.

Re: Falcon pipes

I have a Falcon pipe with 2 bowls.... (interchangeable bowls)..... and it's a great smoker. Also very easy to clean, provided you have thin or tapered cleaners. I don't use the filter rings but some do.

Smoke it slow and you'll be happy if you decide to purchase.

Re: Falcon pipes

That is pretty clever, switching bowls. The bowls seem to go for something like 22 USD - not outrageously expensive.

These pipes look like something that you are supposed to out of.

That was the first thing I thought too when I saw one, but the black and silver combination is pretty cool looking.

Re: Falcon pipes

I own a few and a few bowls also.
They smoke really cool.
One problem is condensation down at the bottom. If you use the rings you'll have no problems at all.
The best thing is you can go away for a few days and with one pipe and a few bowls you'll have a lot of different pipes to rotate.
It's a sure bet.

Re: Falcon pipes

I brought a Falcon very recently, and I'm very happy with it. It builds cake pretty rapidly, smokes cool, is very durable, a fantastic tool for my sq leader in the mornings.
A PC gave me a strange look out of his car this morning when he saw me puffing it, so yeah, it looks like sth...Who cares
