Mild-Medium Plug tobacco recommendation

All these years of enjoying pipe tobacco and I`ve yet to try some plug tobacco. I smoke mainly Va and Va/per blends with a Burley blend now and again for a nice change of pace. Flakes are my choice of cut.

I guess I`ve strayed away from them for their reputation of strength. Can anyone recommend a nice Medium strength plug blend to try?

Maybe something that won`t knock me on my arse.....

Thanks guys,
Dave

I'm currently smoking Mick McQuaid Plug. It was sour at first, but as it's seen some air now, smokes absolutely fantastic, I love that mixture of plums and earthy Va notes!

I think most plugs have the same reputation as ropes so you might be hard-pressed (no pun intended) to find a true plug of a mild to medium nature. But then again, if you've smoked SG flakes.................

3P's is just out from Peterson's, have yet to smoke it, but judging from reviews it seems to fit your request perfectly.

I'm halfway through my first tin of Peterson Perfect Plug (3Ps) and I would definitely recommend it. It's a virginia/burley based blend with just a very, very slight topping. I find it ultra easy to prepare. Burns very nicely.

I'd recommend shaving off very thin slices, rubbing out fully, and allowing the tobacco to dry. I have not had too many relights preparing the tobacco this way.

Cheers!

Petersons Perfect Plug sounds like a winner, thanks guys. A tin will be tossed in on my next order.
