Re: I won!
Nice pipe. I was watching that but I've been on a bit of a spree this weekend and couldn't justify another pipe purchase. Looks great, hope you enjoy it!

Re: I won!
Woo hoo! Lovely little pipe - love the oval-ish shank. What you gonna smoke in it? Have a plan?

Re: I won!
Yep, very nice. I looked at it as well....but instead, sprung for a couple estates; a Barber B'Line 'Special De Luxe' Bent (made by Hardcastle) for $13, and a Royal Sovereign 'Collegiate' (made by Stanwell) for $12. With shipping, a total of about $35.

I think I will probably dedicate this pipe to VAs. I have some to try waiting for me that Ron sent as part of the newbie pipe trade. |

Re: I won!
That's a big bowl on a short-ish pipe. I'd start it with VA, too, and find out what's what but many say burley first. Would you call that pipe a dublin?

Re: I won!
Congrats! VERY nice. Looks a little too tall for VA flakes though. I would stuff it with a favorite shredded like FM, but maybe that's just me. YMMV.
EDIT: My bad. You didn't say "flakes" in your post.

Re: I won!
I was thinking flake on this under-6" pipe until I saw how big the bowl was. It LOOKED like a flake but but measures like it may be something else. I'm interested to hear what shines in this lovely piece.

Re: I won!
I originally said Virginias because I already have a pipe dedicated to English, and one to burleys (smoke my aros in a cob), but I suppose the best way to go about it is try each type in there and see what really shines.
Now that I think of it, I will do that with all my pipes. |

Re: I won!
Seems to me, that shape is typically refereed to as a 'stack'. But I could be wrong.
