Dug down into the cellar today.....

And pulled out a tin of Germain's 1820 Mixture. I bought this from my local b/m about a year ago, popped it open loaded a bowl, and resealed it only to forget about it until the other day.

Today I had the urge for some lat, but not in the dose that some other blends I have on hand would dish out, so I grabbed this little can and rolled out to work. While the old truck warmed up I packed a bowl in my freshly treated and cleaned Big Ben and promptly set a match to it. This was MUCH better than the time I had given this stuff a try last year. Most likely it was me, and not the baccy. The VA, came through bright and yummy with just a hint of lat that was more "essence" than flavor. I ended up going through 5 or six bowls today in 2 pipes. It always smoked clean and dry with not a single gurgle. A swab down with a pipe cleaner took a matter of seconds and came back nearly dry, just a tinge of orange. One word of warning though, it will build a LOT of cake. Don't know why, but it does. If you can get a tin, give it a try.

HEh...no worries. It seems so far to be just what I was looking for, at the price I was willing to pay, so no foul.

....just stay away from the other auctions I am bidding/watching!

Very nice, I've been eyeing that blend for a while now, may be time to make the purchase.

I actually just ordered my first Germain tin, Brown Flake. Looking forward to trying it.

I have read several reviews complaining about the moisture level, but the tin I bought was quite nice upon opening, but better after sitting for a year. If I could keep myself from puffing like a freight train, I could claim it as a great all day back to back smoke. But for now, I feel a little furry in the mouth.

I do have reason to believe the tin I have could be as many as 7-8 years old, I would assume that has to do with its wonderfulness. LOL
