I too am guilty of setting up this same situation. I think it is a combo of the rum and the little bit of latakia in the MBPC, it ends up seasoning everything else you smoke just enough to make it interesting.

I actually like smoking it as a ghost a little more than actually smoking Plumcake.

I have found the best way to enjoy flavorful and BITE FREE PC is to open the tin, stir the contents about to get some oxygen in it, then reseal it, forget about it for a year or so and revisit as the mood strikes. I even date tins of the stuff so I know which is the next in rotation. It seems a little oxidizing, and having the seal cracked allows the baccy to evolve a bit more and helps bring the moisture level down a bit.
