Suggestions for full bodied tobaccos?
I am new to pipes but love full bodied, tasty cigars. Now I know everyone is different, but in general which brands, or blends would you say in general are tasty full bodied blends?

Re: Suggestions for full bodied tobaccos?
GL Pease's Fillmore. It is a virginia/perique blend with no cigar leaf, but it is extremely full-bodied and has a hint of cigar-like quality.

Re: Suggestions for full bodied tobaccos?
A Full bodied smoke IMO is C&D Mississippi Mud.. Lots of Latakia I think.
A Strong musty smell ( right in the tin) , decent taste, It coats the palate.. and you will know you have smoked it for an hour after you are done. ( It is not a regular for me at this point anymore.. Too much wife aggro.) Your roomnote will indicate so for several hours too. LOL Vin |

Re: Suggestions for full bodied tobaccos?
Black XX was the strongest thing I've ever smoked, Brown #4 is slightly less strong. These are both sit-down tobaccos.
Irish flake was a little too harsh for me, I will try it again someday though. 3P's was excellent, so good in fact, that after 2 bowls I ordered 6 tins. ![]() |

Re: Suggestions for full bodied tobaccos?
Gawith Hoggarth & Co. Kendal Dark thick cut, Kendal Flake, Dark Birdseye, Kendal Kentucky all share a similar full-bodied theme. Yet they are different enough to stock them all. If you like scented tobaccos, that opens other doors like Dark Flake unscented or Coniston Cut Plug.
American versions would be 5 Brothers or C&D #005 kelly's Coin. Some might say they are monotonous. Any of the ropes can be very full-bodied. If you don't mind a more medium strength, yet full taste latakia blends, try GL Pease's Chelsea Morning which has a nice cigar-like creaminess. Key Largo is a cigar leaf blend with more kick. Robusto stronger still. Don't pass up Cumberland if you get a chance, which has no latakia in it. |

Re: Suggestions for full bodied tobaccos?
Peterson Irish Flake
GH Dark Flake Unscented SG 1792 GH Happy Brown Bogie And...one I just tried tonight...GH Coconut Twist Rope. Don't let the name fool you, it is not an aromatic. It's got a creamy cigar-ish type flavour and has got some kick to it. Burns extremely well...nice ash right to the botom of the bowl and the room note is pretty good. |

Re: Suggestions for full bodied tobaccos?
Strong tobacco and tobacco only taste try Kendal Kentucky. For blends that have variety and depth try Artisan's Blend, Abingdon, Robusto, Brown Bogie, or Black XX Rope.
