My First Bowl!

Ok Im no longer a pipe virgin. Could not wait for my new Ebay Estate pip to arrive so I had some business this AM in a town with a well established Tobacco shop. First Bowl....Corn Cobb pipe(They make them 80 miles from where I live) and 1-Q tobacco. Was trying to find some Mac Baren Vanilla Cream but they did not have it....so the guy said this was a good starter tobacco and I think he was right...because I did enjoy it alot. I struggled to keep it lit on the first bowl then this afternoon tried it again and it stayed fired and was a much better smoke.

Any suggestions on other starter tobaccos??

I'd try a dark cavendish/burley mix, about 50% of each. Stay away fom some of the cherry blends, as they can be a hot smoke with bite, unless there's a good bit of a dark tobacco blended in.

Lanes 1Q is very popular... as you can see.

My usual answer, (esp if you're using a cob), is to get 2 ounces of the house English / Balkan, 2 ounces of something Virginia, 2 ounces of a burley / cavendish thing and 2 ounces of .... well you get the picture.


After that, Tobacco Reviews will come in handy.
