Bulls Eye!

One of the new blends I got a sample of at RTDA was Stokkebye's Bulls Eye. It is a Virginia Flake with a couple twists. First, it really is processed in a twist and the resulting flakes are round. The name comes from the second twist - the center of the rope contains un-cased black cavendish. As well, the blend has a small amount of perique in it.

I had my first bowl of it last night in a small apple shaped briar. The smoke was amazingly smooth and cool and the perique added just the right amount of kick. As I smoke more of it I may be able to compare it to some other flakes, but right off the bat it seems very unique.

If you start seeing this at your local tobacconist, give it a try. I think Virginia Flake lovers will really enjoy it.

Sounds delicious. There's a place in the mall that stocks Stokkebey's blends, but I doubt they'll carry this. I'll keep an eye out for it, though. I'm assuming this is ready-rubbed?

Nope, you need to rub out the flakes. They are very thin flakes and rub easily. Three of the "bulls eyes" filled my small apple.

You will probably have to ask your dealer to order it for you if they don't carry much in the way of bulk flake. I believe the rep told me it comes in 1/2 lb quantities. I didn't see any small packaging or tins at their booth, they just had a large sample jar of it out to try from. I'm going to ask my local dealer if he will order it. He carries other Stokkebye blends and seems good about getting what folks want. If I can get some I'd be happy to spread the joy!

BTW, for you aromatic lovers, Stokkebye also was debuting a new Mango blend. I got a small sample but haven't tried it yet. I don't smoke many aromatics, but this one does smell great, both in the bag and in the air. The rep was smoking some while we talked.

They seem to have it here. Quite cheap too. I'll have to put an order in sometime!
