I just started smoking pipes about 2 weeks ago and have no favorite tobacco yet.

I say go to your local B&M and see what they have for house blends, open the jars take a sniff and buy a few 1oz bags.

This will be cheaper then any tin and no shipping. My B&M has quite a few tasty blends.


If you must order though I like the McClelland Frog Morton Blends

I don't know what i like-- this is a new venture for me. I have a decent briar pipe I bought at Nat Sherman called peterson irish seconds-- 15 years ago, but I haven't smoked it since college. I cleaned it with salt last night.

I've been smoking cigars, but I thought I might give this a go. i just ordered

So try the Walgreens Burley and Black. It is cheap and if you dont like pipes you haven't wasted a lot of money, Okay Okay so I am cheap!

Do you have a local B&M? If you tell the tobacconist that you're interested in sampling a few blends, he'll probably hook you up with some small packs.

last two replies-- I ordered the stuff in my post above--tried one of them and promptly decided that pipes are not for me--I am a cigar guy at heart I guess. I have the tobacco up for trade for cigars in the WTT if either of you is interested.

At least try the Odyssey or the 2015 before you give it up, maybe you just really disliked the Bluenote? Or try one of those in a new corn cob pipe ($3 at walgreens), different pipes can give very different smoking experiences.
