Peterson Deluxe

I am looking at getting a new pipe and I am thinking about a Peterson Deluxe.

This is the one I am considering

most of my pipes have been straight grain but I thought I would go for a bird's eye look. What do y'all think? Are the Peterson Deluxes worth the $?

Thanks!

Re: Peterson Deluxe

Peterson is absolutely one of the nicest pipes you can buy. The P-Lip system draws the smoke in over the tongue, rather than directly onto it, making the flavor of the smoke more enjoyable. I've always wished I had the funds to sink into a Peterson. I'd choose it over any other, if money weren't an object.

That particular one is beautiful. I love the full bent style, and the pattern on it is gorgeous. Happy smoking!

Re: Peterson Deluxe

I agree with Burninator 100%. I have two Peterson's from the "Sherlock Holmes" series, and both smoke great. For some reason, Petersons seem to favor Virginia blends.

Burninator, check out eBay, there's always a few estate Peterson's for sale.

Re: Peterson Deluxe

would say $125 be a good deal for a Peterson DeLuxe pipe? Supposedly normally $250, but that could just be a marketing ploy

Re: Peterson Deluxe

From what I've seen, most high grade Petersons go in the $200 to $300 range. At 50% off, go for it!

I think most of us already know the source (I do), just by looking at the pictures.

Re: Peterson Deluxe

That is a great looking pipe. My favorite pipe right now is my Peterson Shannon 106, though I received a message today saying that my new Bjarne should be delivered today, so...we will have to see if the Peterson is going to lose its position.

Let us know what you decide.

Well I am trying to convince the Mrs. she already asked if I had ordered it, not being mean or anything just curious so I don't think she would mind

Re: Peterson Deluxe

For the money, Petersons are probably my favorite pipes. I have a bunch of them and love every one. I don't think you'll be disappointed with it.

Didn't read this part before I replied. If you are getting a quality pipe for half its normal price, you are getting a good deal. Yes $125 is a lot, but remember, pipe tobacco costs next to nothing compared to cigars. That might be you selling point with your bride.

its not the idea of a $125 pipe that scares her, its the $125 being better spent elsewhere. Infact she has bought me a $100+ pipe last Christmas so she knows how much they can run.

Re: Peterson Deluxe

OK - so what you need to do is go out and spend $500 on her, then buy the pipe.

Re: Peterson Deluxe

Nice looking pipe. Like those Petes. They do take a while to break-in however. Take your time with it and you will be rewarded with a great smoker.

I have to say though, an inexpensive Pete smokes quite well also.
