Ahhhhhhhh heck.
Well thanks to some fellow BOTL's here I have finally gotten started on pipes in a somewhat serious manor. The little sampler that Joe sent me was the final nail in the coffin. Once I got away from the aromatic cherry and what not tobaccos and on some of the English blends things have done a 180 from what I was used to think on pipes. Still get a bit of tongue bit but not near as bad. Was a bowl maybe 2 a week. Now a couple a day.

Smoking the 2 briar pipes I got here a wee bit too much so got a couple more on the way from French's. Also got about 5 more tins of pipe tobacco coming too. Sigh I slipped off another damn slope.

Just a couple of no name bent estate pipes. As for the tobacco I got the following coming in.

Butera Kingfisher
Outback this one is a pipe tobacco dot come house blend.
G.L. Pease Haddo's Delight
Squadron Leader from Samuel Gawith
1792 Flake also from Samuel Gawith


Shall see how it goes. The only ones I have had of these was the Haddo's delight.

Stacey, I can imagine you, in my mind, riding fences, a stogie squeezed between your teeth, smoke curling back behind you as you lean over to take a closer look at that bad place in the barbed wire.

I have to go to a different image for this new "habit". I see you sitting in your leather chair, a cowhair/hide rug in front of the fireplace (with a fire crackling, of course), a Zane Gray, or Max Brand, or Ralph Compton resting open on your lap, maybe a dog on the floor beside you, with a pipe clenched between your teeth, smoke lazily curling towards the ceiling.

Welcome to the second slope. Sorry to hear that cigargal can't entice you to join the rest of us on the coffee slope! Oh, well, I'm sure there is another slope out there, just waiting for you to trip and fall!! Have a great Christmas season, and try not to lose any fingers to frost bite checking on the herd
