Re: my first experience blending tobaccos

Sounds good. Blending tobaccos is, to me, one of the most fun things about pipe smoking.

Re: my first experience blending tobaccos

Glad to hear somebody was successful. My own attempts always seemed to bring out the worst in any of the constituent parts, and at best the new blend was uninteresting. I suppose making something that is less than the sum of its parts is an achievement of some sort.

Do you have a name for your new blend? Perhaps 'Candish Wynd' after the man who is credited with being the first to dip tobacco into sugar, or perhaps even 'Circumnavigator':

Re: my first experience blending tobaccos

I purchased a #509 Nat Sherman, a dark tobacco and light sweet mild tobacco. Both were ok alone, but found together they were much better. I mixed both bags and it made for a nice sweet, but mellow smoke.
