Taken the Plunge... Thanks ALOT

Well that's it, I have just plunged head first down a new slope. All this talk about pipes got me interested and looking around at the pictures of pipes on the net their were so many beautiful looking pipes that I decided I just had to have one and give this a try. I spent the last 5 nights looking at pictures and just couldn't make up my mind.

I have just now settled on one I like, a bit more than what I wanted/should have spent for my 1st pipe, but I figured if you're gonna go... go in hard.

Here's a pic, its' a Bjarne Bent Dublin with partially rusticated heel..... I think

Also got some 'baccy. A small tin of Esoterica Penzance and a tin of Samual Gawith Squadron Leader. Also got the pipe cleaners and a Czech pipe tool.

Crap, when my wife finds out I am so done. She gonna put me in that pipe and smoke it

I think you have made some excellent choices. Try some different tobaccos-Penzance is a love/hate kinda thing-may not be a good one for a newbie. SL is a great one-considered an English blend I think. Very popular here in the jungle.

I've yet to try Squadron Leader, but have heared great things about it. I do love me some Penzance, though it's not for everyone .. and Dunhill My Mixture 956 has been a go-to blend since I started.

Thanks Marianne, Ill keep that in mind. Being a total newb with pipes, when it came to the tobacco I looked at the reviews here and chose a couple I felt were in a profile I would enjoy. But you never can tell, same with cigars I guess, just as well it's a small tin. woohoo, I get to use the little pipe smoking dude now

Beautiful pipe choice Jason. I think yens are gonna like this pipe stuff mate. I've been reading my ass off in the pipe forum and trying baccy that Joe sent in an awesome Meer that he sent as well and damned if I ain't on the pipe sites looking at buying more. Never really smoked anything much but aromatics and thanks to Joe I've been introduced to virginias and am hooked. Never knew a pipe could be so satisfying. Hell even Anita liked the few puffs she took.
