what about carnauba wax? what kind of stores carry that? I know it is used in car polish, but i'm guessing not as pure carnauba wax...

This was is most often sold in a hard brick and you soften it by holding it against a buffing wheel. You then apply to the pipe and buff that. Most of us don't have such tools and Halcyon and Paragon are great alternatives. Possibly better.

I thought you still needed a buffer to apply Halcyon?

nope, both halcyon and paragon are hand applied and hand buffed waxes. You only need a buffer for pure carnauba.

Re: Basic Pipe Care and Cleaning.

Hey Chris, where is a good place to order Carnuba wax?

I have my eye on a dual 6" buffer because I want the max shine on my pipes.

Thanks in advance brother.

Any woodworking store should have it, or even ebay. I bought mine from ebay in flake form (couldnt find it in blocks) i melted it in a saucepan over a gentle heat then poured it into some dishes as moulds (lined with clingwrap) that allowed me to make 4 good sized blocks that will last longer than i will.
When buying make sure you get the highest grade pure wax, some have colour added or are not 100% pure Look for wax marked T1 as this is the best grade available.
