Stupid Question? Old leather baccy pouch

One of the ebay auctions I 'won' the other day included an old (relative term, lol) Peterson tobacco pouch. My question has to do with cleaning it for use...worried about possible mildew/mold issues (although it doesn't smell mildew-y) and about any possible cross taste contamination.

Not sure how to go about cleaning it since it's nothing but fabric and leather.

Thanks.

Keep the tobacco in a zip lock inside the pouch. You'll have the look with no problems with contamination.

Wipe it out with a cloth soaked in your favorite hi test spirits then leave it open to dry out?

He's got it spot on, i use ziplock baggies or i take a bag that it the correct width to fit, cut off the top so it just overhangs the top and use it as a removable liner, then i can change it each time i change baccy with no flavour contamination, it also looks a bit better than a full ziplock inside.
