I would think that pipe carvers and tobacco blenders would WANT an influx of snobbery into the world of pipes.
Snobs are the ones who will be paying their bills.
without snobs, who would buy the $700 straight grained beauties?
without snobs, who would buy the carefully blended tobacco?
without snobs, we would all be sitting around smoking captn black out of drug store pipes.
I dont think its a bad thing to be a snob, just as long as your not an ass about it.
i like fine tobacco, i enjoy collecting unique pipes. but i dont think im too good to smoke out of a cob. nor would i ever say anything to someone because they choose to purchase value priced tobaccos or pipes.
Hell, i purchase cobs all the time, i find them to be excellent smokers. most of the time i smoke cobs in public as well, i dont want my good pipes to get lost or damaged so i only smoke them at home. Its not about being seen with my good pipes
I guess its how you define a snob.
If you start to look down on others because of their tastes.. then thats snobbery gone too far.
