Cobs bigger than briar?

So i walked into my B&M the other day and I said to myself "this is the day" I asked where his cobs were looked at them and they were HUGE! I said to myself, i can't see myself smokeing one of those and turned away and picked up my regular 'gars. Are cobs that much bigger than briar pipes? or am i just afraid to take the plunge down another slope?

Unless they're the Gentleman cobs--the ones with the black stain, I forget the actual name, no they aren't bigger, in fact they're smaller than most of the briars I have anyway.

I agree with a.paul - cobs do tend to generally have a smallish bowl.
Although some cobs do LOOK bigger in your hand, due to their cobiness

Yeah ... they are rediculously huge. .... it's like 1/2 an ear of corn.

I had forgotten about those....I think you'd need a pencil to pack the first half of the bowl

i've got a couple of the "bulldog" shaped ones, and it was so wide/big that it barely fit in a standard USPS box.
so, yes, they can be big but so can briars.
