McClelland Virginias
I was at JR's yesterday and they carry a lot of McClelland tins. I was looking at them and noticed all the different Virginias they have. I know for sure they had tins of No 22,24,25,27. I went on TobaccoReviews see what other Virginias they had and I noticed they have a lot of Bulk ones too. What Virginias have you guys tried and how do all the diffferent McCelland Virginias compare too each other? If you could pick one to smoke which one would you pick?

Re: McClelland Virginias
I have had #24, 5100 (bulk) and 2001 Christmas Cheer. I like all 3 but I would have a hard time describing each in relation to the other. The reason I say that is: (1) #24 itself was a very smooth and flavorful VA, I liked it a lot (2) 5100 seems very much lighter to me (but it seems to be changing and building body/flavor over the month or so that I've had it and (3) Christmas Cheer seems to be much more tart/tangy than the others (but in the 2 weeks since I have opened the tin I m noticing it smoothing out a LOT).
There's my take on these, but given how they are seeming to change on me I'm not sure what stage I'm commenting on. ShawnP is a VA-ho and is familiar with McC, so I'd be interested on his take. Sorry I couldn't be more help... |
