A BIG THANKS to Root.

Thanks for the X-mas Cheer, and tagalongs, Root.
I asked if someone might want to help me out with a sample of Xmas Cheer, and Root came to the rescue.
Not only did he send a nice sampling of '06 Cheer, he sent some other great samples.

C&D Guilford Courthouse
Mac Baren Navy Flake
H&H Anniversary
H&H Beverwyck (Just finished a bowl. Nice)
Sam Gawith Bracken Flake "Lakeland Scented"

Thanks again Root!

This was a great gesture from a very generous BOTL.

Looks like you've gotten plenty of good samples in your camp lately...now, not another "peep out of you" 'til you start smokin' some of those tobaccys!

...just kiddin' you...enjoy them and keep us posted on what you try.

looks like some of my favorites (bracken flake - it's strong, just like that "dark flake" i sent you). you should start doing reviews, even if you think you're too new to do them, they'll facilitate discussion and some things you may not pick up on some others may be able to tell you what it is you're tasting.

On a side note to the bracken flake. A new pound of it looks very nice to the eyes.

Though I think the famous QC at Sam Gawith's has struck again. It smells like Bracken flake but looks brown instead of black/gray (NEW Bracken flake on top, old on bottom) and the taste is not as full (i.e. no power, Greg). Virginia taste up front with none of the topping coming through, kind of a Bracken Lite version. But I must say even with QC screw up it is still a Gawith flake and in my book the two tobacco blending houses of Kendel make the best flakes in the world so it is still a fine smoke.
