How about knives??
Do we have any knife lovers here? I enjoy carrying a good blade. I own 2 customs, one by Javelina knives the other by Eddie White. All the rest are by either Chris Reeve, Emerson, Benchmade, Spyderco, MOD, SOG, CRKT, or Cold Steel.
My next purchase, a retirement gift to myself, is going to be a Mini Strike by MD Tactical or a TK-8 by Krein Knives.

Re: How about knives??
Just carry a Kershaw Ken Onion Leek folder, great knife IMO, classy looking, opens in a flash, and very sharp.

Re: How about knives??
Eddie and his wife Lora of Shadow Knives are just great folks. I spent some time with them last summer while Eddie taught me how to properly grind blades. The guy is a true master in his field and does the best double edge blades I have ever seen. And doesn't use a jig, he free hands them. Amazing. You can't buy a better hand ground blade no mater how much you spend. We will be stopping by his place on Sunday to say hi on our way to the beach.
BTW Eddie does all of my heat treating. Jesla Steel Blue Knives |

Re: How about knives??
I am a big fan of knives from left to right on on the first row; Gerber BMF, Ka-Bar, Gerber Guardian.
Second row from right to left; Knives of Alaska Muskrat and Cub Bear, Benchmade Mini-Reflex Auto, Benchmade Mini-Griptilian Tanto, Frost Cultery Scrimshaw ![]() |

Re: How about knives??
I always carry a pocketknife in the back left pocket. Usually I choose between this gerber with a half straight half serrated blade and cutaway handle, and a swiss army climber.

I carry my Cold Steel AK-47 with me wherever I go. I love that knife
Fits my hand perfectly both forwards and reverse, has a oversized pommel for skull smashing and opens on the way out of my pocket ![]()

Re: How about knives??
Not only do I like knives, I make them. I've been kicking around some "cigar knife" ideas, actually.

Re: How about knives??
I've always carried a knife of some kind as far back as I can remember. I have a modest collection right now but am hoping to expand at some point.
Not to thread-jack, but I have a few for sale/trade if anyone might be interested. http://www.puff.com/forums/vb/wts-b-...an-series.html

Re: How about knives??
Love and collect knives . Just bought a Kershaw Speedsafe 1620c Onion in Camo . It is now my favorite pocket knife . Very well made in the USA and comes with the spring assist and blade closed lock that is only found on the Kershaw . Keeps my 2 year old son from opening it .

Re: How about knives??
I too like knives, dont really have the money at moment to expand past just nice everyday carry knives but I have 3 benchmades and 2 klotzli's in my collection. I ussually take a klotzli on normal days but days Im going to be working in the lab I take a benchmade (much more heavy duty).

Re: How about knives??
I could get the specs for you but once you see it you wont need them, they are all fairly unique. beautiful, light and very high quality. try to get them on ebay or on sale. my first was the red one I found for sale for 80 bucks on the Boker website then I found the green one on ebay for 130 the retail on these guys are about 300 so I was pretty happy with the deals I found.
the pics are of my good knife collection benchmades(3) and klotzli(2) I have some junkier ones too but I don't use them.

Re: How about knives??
I have used knives my whole life, and unfortunatley I have had to use them in the performance of my duties.
I am retired now, and will never , ever, be without a knife. I always have a full swiss army on my keychain, as well as a coldsteel tanto point, half serated , large (I believe 5.5 inch blade) voyager model, on everyone of my pants. (Its a folder) The NYS law for folder is 6 inches. When I travel down to nyc, I have to swap it out with the same knife, but a four inch blade(4 inch or less law), I have drawn my sidearm twice in the last five years of retirement, but I have used the knifes so many times, for so many casual purposes its become indispinsible. I have used it for cutting cigars, wire, pipe. There are always so many uses for a good blade. Much regards Jerry |
