Friday around 2:00 Justin, TravelingJ, will be in town and headed to Belicoso. If anyone wants to show up I'll be there till 8:00.

Heading anywhere in the Chicago area on a work day is almost impossible. Even if I headed out right after work, by the time I got there the herf would be almost over. Sigh. Have a blast and think about weekends next time.

The weekend won't work, as I won't be here any more. I leave for NYC in the morning. We know it isn't ideal...but it's all we can do ) =
I hope Chris realized I said I would get off of work at 2, not that I would be there at 2! Taking the girlfriend back home right now, going to grab a quick bite, then I will be heading that way.

I will get a more thorough review of Belicoso's up later, but for now I just wanted to post up that it really is a very nice shop, and Chris and I had a great meet up yesterday. Chris helped me to navigate their massive selection, and I left with a nice purchase.
We spent several hours talking about food, cars, libations, and of course-cigars. Then we managed to swap a few sticks that neither had tried before. I attached a picture of what Chris gave me. The picture that is missing, is that of the great Fonseca that he bought for me. The owner of Belicoso insisted that I try a 'pencil cut' on the stick, and then helped me to light it with a gorgeous, and massive, triple flame Rocky Patel lighter. Had a great cigar, a great time, and hopefully my next visit will allow for more BOTL to show up!

Glad you found that Arganese that you said you wanted to try.
I've been meaning to check out Belicoso's for a while now, just never had the time or when I did I forgot and just went to Burning Leaf. Have a safe trip! |
