Cardinal Fan & Priest

A Cardinal fan used to amuse himself by scaring every Cubs fan he saw
strutting down the street in their obnoxious Cubs shirts. He would swerve
his van as if to hit them, and then swerve back just missing them.

One day, while driving along, he saw a priest. He thought he would do a
good deed, so he pulled over and asked the priest "Where are you going
Father?"

"I'm going to give mass at St. Francis Church, about 2 miles down the
road," replied the priest.

"Climb in Father! I'll give you a lift!" said the man.

The priest climbed into the rear passenger seat, and they continued down
the road. Suddenly, the driver saw a Cubs fan walking down the road, and
he instinctively swerved as if to hit him. But, as usual, he swerved back
into the road just in time. Even though he was certain that he had missed
the guy, he still heard a loud "THUD."

Not understanding where the noise came from, he glanced back in his
mirrors but still didn't see anything. He then remembered the priest, and
he turned to the priest and said "Sorry Father, I almost hit that Cubs
fan."

"That's okay," replied the priest, "I got him with the door."

Cards and their fans are a pretty classy bunch. Hard to root against them. LaRussa and now Scioscia rank 1 and 1a in good sportsmanship and class. Baseball is such a better game to raise your boys on thanany other sport. A hard ball thrown and hit at high speeds instills respect. I like that. Although I thought Pujols was flirting with a ball in his ear with the stand and admire act last night. I don't like that crap. Reminds me of Sosa.

My father was a Card Fan and I'm a Cubbie all the way, but also a Baseball fan, My Boss sends me these jokes and ribs me every year about them poor Cubs. What I admire about the Cards is the way they play as a team, One reason they are on top for the last few years and always good. One day the Cubs will get there heads out of the big A-Hole and play as a team, " wait until next year "

Re: Cardinal Fan & Priest

I have a buddy in Chicago thats a diehard Cub fan, we gave him hell all the time as well. He went with us to Reds game against the Cubs back in the early 90's and he wore his Cub's stuff while we were all wearing Red. As luck would have it the Cubs beat my damn non pitching Reds, so he got the last laugh that day. The Reds will win a World series every 30 years or so though.

Oh yeah that was funny as hades.

Re: Cardinal Fan & Priest

I've been a Cub's fan for over 4 decades. There is no cure. On the other hand, I have to have a sense of humor. I also have developed no love for the Cardinals over the years. I have an acquaintance who is a die hard Rex Sox fan. When the Red Sox won last year I realized that she would never be able to experience the relief and joy of winning after all that time and would never have that unfulfilled hope again. That's a one time shot that is gone for the Red Sox. The Cubs still have it coming, so do the Astros and the White Sox. The Cardinals have won at least twice in my lifetime. It's only special once.
