New style cutter?
I was at a local shop today and I saw what APPEARED to be a more traditional style cutter in the Xikar display. It was rectangular in shape, and looked to be about 1.5 inches wide, by 3 inches long, closed. I think it was all metal.
Was this something new, old, or a figment of my imagination? I didn't have time to investigate, and I can't find anything online. |

Re: New style cutter?
Wow now that is one sweet looking cutter! I wish they had a pic of it open so you can really see how it works. From that pic it kinda looks like only one blade moves?

Well that reaction is that the stable blade is also cutting upon the cigar with equal force as the mobile blade.

Re: New style cutter?
How do you hold the thing? Looks awkward. The original Xikar is somewhat intuitive, to me at least, and a Palio or any of the cutters with a loop at each end, but this doesn't seem to have any ergo help at all. I guess that I have a havana cutter, and it is the same-ish shape, but looking at the old xikar series, it seems a step backward to go back to a non ergo shape. A gentle curve here and there helps control a cut, and helps against fumbling when you are as clumsy as I am.
