CAO woes...

To start off, I think CAO is a great company. They are innovative and they have some seriously great blends. I recently purchased the comemorative sampler and had some serious issues with it. There were 7 cigars in it.
CAO Gold Churchill- no problem
CAO Gold maduro Churchill- tight draw. barely smokeable.
CAO crillolo pato- plugged
CAO CX2 belicoso- the wrapper split in about 3 or 4 places
CAO italia- plugged. hardcore.
cao brazil- no problem
cao cameroon- plugged

it wasnt a good sampler.

Re: CAO woes...

Wow. That's totally different then the sampler I had. The only one I had a draw and uneven burn problem with was the Criolla. The rest were good.

Usually means that the tobacco is bunched too tight in a certain section of the cigar thus making the draw way too tight.

Some info on it can be found here:

Obviously not too current, but gives the story of similar problems and some reasons for them

Re: CAO woes...

I experienced a similar issue with an MX2. I emailed the company from their web site to let them know about it.

I received a somewhat defensive reply from a marketing rep. But they stood behind their product, and sent me 5 huge sticks within a week. That's the kind of customer service I like.

Re: CAO woes...

I think if you contact CAO, and explained your disapointment that they would go out of thier way to make it right.

That many plugged cigars, wow...It's hard to imagining 4 out of seven cigars being plugged, Wow.... I havent had that many plugged cigars in many, many months. It sounds like it could possibly be humidification problems, some times cigars are shipped a liitle over humidified....

Sorry to hear about your experience, I hope CAO will replace the cigars for you.

Re: CAO woes...

I contacted CAO just to express my displeasure with the Sopranos cigar. I had bought some and they were tight and IMO unsmokeable. The rep responded within the hour with a request for my address to make it right. They sent me a WHOLE box of Sopranos cigars and a hat.

CAO may be alot of things.....but one thing is for sure...they stand behind their product.

Re: CAO woes...

I've had some issues with a couple smaller Brazilia, some lower-level Padron's, and a lot of Lars sticks being plugged. I haven't really found any rhyme or reason to it though, sometimes sticks from the same box smoke completely differently?

Its nice that they sent you a new box -- but were they any better? Or more of the same?

I ran into the same issue and emailed CAO about it. No response in 2 weeks, which email did everyone use?
