YES! Thank you! I have found that I am developing a real taste for ligero. Let me send you a PM and tell you what happened.

Agel Oliva is not related to the Oliva Cigar Family. There are 2 Oliva Families... The Oliva Cigar Family and The Oliva Tobacco Company in Tampa Fl. Oliva is a VERY common Cuban name. |

These are potent, rich cigars, made from a hearty Nicaraguan ligero filler blend, and binder all grown on the Oliva's La Joya plantation. Plus they are wrapped in their signature Ecuador sun-grown wrappers. This is a true Cuban-style cigar with all the body and flavor you would expect in an after-dinner smoke. Rigidly pressed and packed in unique boxes of five cigars each, this is a legitimate connoisseur product blended for the experienced cigar smoker only. Thanks, Sam, for clearing this up. This is why we are so lucky to have great reps like you on our board!

I picked up a package of the La Meca last December at JR's when I was visiting my parents. I have smoked one, bombed three, and have one left in the humi. The first one was okay... I think it needs a little bit more time.

The Angel 100's are another JR brand. Since the Oliva Tobacco Company doesnt make cigars, I would guess it's a Placencia made product. (Oliva Tobacco and Placencia are a huge part of JR's catalog).
I havent smoked one, but I usually stay away from JR's stuff. They are in 5 packs around $2 a stick. The Oliva Cigar Company also grows tons of tobacco and have for 5 generations, but they are known for their cigars. They are the 2nd largest tobacco grower in Nicaragua (next to Placencia of course). The Oliva Tobacco Co. grows in many countries and is well known for their Ecuadorian wrapper leaf. Many of this is redundant, but this Angel 100 cigar has caused some confusion. |
