How is draw testing done? Is it done before the wrapper is put on? or is it before the cap is put on? I've always wondered about that.

John,

Nice question.

All draw testing is done on a completed cigar...wrapper & Cap.

Keep in mind, not every single cigar is draw tested, samples are pulled from every roller, to see is they are rolling correctly.

Don't let anyone BS you, NO ONE, and I mean NO ONE draw tests every single cigar.

I cannot get a break with my Olivas
I've had the same exploding issues with the O's as well. It's the Habano wrapper - Very delicate. I've been told that they are aware of the wrapper issues and have changed to a thicker wrapper. I'm still getting boxes that perform like this. Oliva is picking them up and sending replacements.

Dion,

Unfortunately you do not allow PM's as I would have rather sent this that way..

With ALL DO RESPECT, and I can't state that enough, this is the Oliva manufacturer's section, where consumers are looking for answers "straight from the source"...

While I appreciate, your comments, I would rather the answers come from the Manufacturer, rather than from another manufacturer.

Please do not take this as a defensive or abrasive response...I just want our consumers to get the message correct from us, as I am sure you would want the same with your consumers.

Again, I am not trying to come off the wrong way,...Please do not take it in a negative manner. If this was in the general cigar section I would have never made such a comment.

Agreed Sam.

This board exists for the manufacturers to respond about their product. I think Oliva's record speaks for itself with the way they're performing and it is in poor taste for vudu9 as a manufacturer to come on here and attempt to degrade the quality of another product.

I'm with the others on this. Olivas have been a very consistant stick. You better send them to me for further inspection.

While I appreciate the support, and I do, Lets not blow this out of porportion. Again I wish Dion had his PM turned on, as I am not one to "air" things...

Dion was in no way trying to "degrade" our product, but rather answer a question. But when you have a "manufacturer's" label under you name, these are the things that people assume...Which is my point for bringing it up.

I'd appreciate it, out of respect for Dion, if we can just end any further comments on this...i do not want to see people ganging up against him, when he was only trying to help.

I hope everyone understands my point.

So are you using a thicker wrapper?

No worries. I'm a retailer first and foremost and have had many issues with the capa on this particular extension. My rep has taken care of the issue. I just wanted to add to the discussion of problems i've had and to no way wanted give the impression that it was a problem that wasn't being handled by the Olivas in a timley manner. I consider their product to be one of the highest quality at a tremendous value. I'll remember to save similar comments to the open fourms should they arise.
