Of all the Gran Habano's, this was one that didn't leave a favorable impression. I've only smoked one of these, so in all fairness, I could have just picked out a bad one. The one I had burned really irregular and the flavor was off. I guess I should really give these another try. It's hard not to be biased after having a bad experience.

It's funny you should say that. I have a box that has been resting for 6months. I had the first one today. At first the burn started out irregular but evened up on its own. The pre light draw was good. There was lots of smoke but the flavors were simple. The ash was flakey and got everywhere. I guess it was not just me. I put it down half way through. I will keep the box for company HAHA

Last week a friend and I had two Gran Habano VL's, the flavor was excellent, lots of cedar and earthiness. However, the burn was horrible. Our draws were completely different between the two sticks, both required relighting. The whole time the burns were uneven, we had to keep trying to repair it, the ash was all over the place!

Hes right (i was the other guy)

My draw was very very tough and the ash was wild and ugly, though the flavor like he said was very enjoyable with a pleasant bouquet.

That sucks. You would figure for the corojo #5 being such a good smoke that their "VL" would be like that.

I was hoping for the same. I love the Connecticut #1, the Habano #3, and the Corojo #5. I have a 3 Siglos resting, but haven't smoked one of those yet. I expect it to as good or better than the #1, #3, and #5. Too bad the VL didn't live up like the rest.
