Question Where did all the Cigar Women go?

Hi, my name is Damsel...

Back in 2007, Rocky Patel attended a Woman's Forum in Nicaragua which was sponsored by CigarBabes - my question is "What happened to the momentum - and did any productivity come out of that forum?"

I author a blog "Women who Smoke Cigars and the Men who Love Them" and recently I have found a home for the SOTLs at Social Cigar. I have spun off Social Cigar and created Cigars4Women aka Women who Smoke Cigars - this is the sister site for Social Cigar.

I am not a tobacconist, I am an author and a Woman who loves the cigar culture. My passion is to put a credible face back on the Enthusionada, pick up where CigarBabes left off, and assist in providing a valuable insight into the under served market of the Woman Cigar Smoker.

Your support in our cause is well appreciated Rocky, but did it end in Nicaragua?

Damsel....

Welcome! While there aren't many SOTLs here, the ones that are are the best!

Hello Damsel,

And welcome to the best cigar forum (I have ever seen) on the world wide web.

I wish I knew more about the event in Nicaragua to help you! As you might have guessed, Rocky is insanely busy and is only here in the office less than one week out of a month, and when he is here, he's in meetings. I'll try my best to address this with him next time I see him and hopefully I can get some sort of answer for you.

You're doing a great thing though and everyone appreciates it!

Welcome Clarice, it is great to get another passionate SOTL on CL!

I am always working to get the girls I date or am friends with to smoke cigars. What I find is that they make all kinds of excuses but it usually boils down to the fear of it not being "lady-like." However once I break them down and get them to try a good quality cigar they really enjoy it!

Thank you so much for responding Andy. I wish I had more information on the trip as well.

As I began this project, I questioned "Where did all the Cigar Smoking Women Go?" - According to Smokeshopmag.com they were all at a Women's Cigar forum in Esteli, Nicaragua!

I later discovered that Rocky is very supportive of the SOTLs, and from the pictures on CigarBabe.org this would support my assumption. However, the site is now inactive, no events have been posted since 2006, and this is where the trail goes dry.

Herein lies my passion. Your assistance in resurrecting this lost world, would be greatly appreciated!

I look forward to hearing from you again, Damsel...

Oh yeah, I'm all over the pink cutters. As a female cigar smoker, I have the most difficulty in selecting a cigar in which the band matches the top I'm wearing or at least one that accentuates my eyes. Okay, I'm just kidding. Welcome to CigarLive Clarice.

I have tried a little to get my wife to smoke a cigar. She has smoked a couple of CAO flavours and liked them. I have a little humidor for her with some coffee flavored cigars. Maybe some pink accessories would do it. Oh wait, then she might need to go buy some new shoes or something.

She goes with me to a monthly cigar club meeting and wants to fit in so the little flavours work good. She drinks Bud Light and smokes flavours and I drink Stout or single malt and smoke mostly maduro torpedos. What cigar would you suggest for a beginning lady?
