2nd West Michigan herf!

I realized this should have been a new and separate posting, so let's begin again...

I'm working on another West Michigan event! -- A "Cigar-b-que" in my backyard. Maybe June 22 (Sunday) around 1pm? That gives churchgoers a chance to attend, gives us 3-6 hours of fellowship, and plenty of time to drive home. (Rene can stumble across the street!)

Men, meat and cigars....Arrgghh! (cue the grunting!) Designated drivers, errr...spouses can come too, if they want! (I haven't seen any West Michigan women herfers on the board yet!)

I've been chatting with Rene (rmphoto) and Michael (chubno) about doing this. I hope the date works for everyone. I will invite a few other brothers of the leaf who I know live in the area and hopefully we can recruit a few more forum members to come.

The initial idea is to bring something to grill; your favorite beer, scotch or cola; a few sticks to share; and maybe $5 or so to cover all the extra food (corn on the cob, potato salad, etc.) We'd need a pretty solid number so we can plan all the extras.

Cool! Spread the word! Sunday, June 22 at 1PM at my house. I'm at 120 W. 23rd Street in Holland, MI 49423. Mapquest or Google Maps should get you there. Once you get close, look for the flames! ;-)

I'll probably tend the grill, but will share the spatula with others who show a demonstrated proficiency. ;-)

Mike, Glad you can make it. It's not "annual" YET, but it is the 2nd one!

Good to see some action here in the West Michigan area! I stopped at Tuttles in GR and bought a few sticks then ordered some online. My little desktop humidor is overflowing! So I am ready!

I'm inviting some friends here in town who aren't forum members (yet), but I pointed them all to Cigar Live and asked them to attend the herf. There may be a newbie or two among us, but we'll recruit 'em! I'll keep everyone posted.

Again a reminder to everyone to bring something to throw on the grill, a few sticks to smoke or share and a fiver to help out with the side dishes. I think maybe the wife is making up a big batch of crab cakes! You have not lived until you have tried them!
