Re: Burnsville - Burn
I plan to spend some time here come winter. Been wanting a lounge nearby where I can enjoy a nice, relaxed smoke indoors. The pics on the website make this look like a nice spot.

Re: Burnsville - Burn
It is a pretty nice place, my only concern is that right now it's not open on Sundays, maybe that will change as football gets going

Was up in Burnsville yesterday and decided to stop in.. Bought some pipe tobacco and a CAO Italia..Nice place and nice employee.. If I lived closer I would be in there everyday in the winter..

Re: Burnsville - Burn
Finally got over here today (Friday). Nice place - pool table, poker table. Smoked an Oliva Series O as I tried to do some work. Had the Ipod along in hopes of kind of isolating myself, but the radio was just a bit too loud for that (I tend not to work well when there's a lot of uncontrolled background noise).
Good spot, the employee (owner?) there seemed very nice and I'll go back, though I'm not sure it's a great place to get work done. Ahh well. |

Re: Burnsville - Burn
There is usually either the Owner working there Joel, or one of two part timers of which i forget their names. If you wanted to do some work they would be more than willing to turn the radio down or off for you, they are very accommodating. Hope to see you there!

Re: Burnsville - Burn
Yeah I've been in 4-5 times now. Brought the laptop a few times for some light work, but unless it's pretty empty, that just doesn't work too well for me. Was in on Friday just to enjoy a cigar and watch a movie. Nice place to unwind. It's a bit of a trek up there so I don't go too often, but once or twice a month when it's cold.
Prices are really quite good for a B&M having to jump through all the tax hoops. I've had Olivas, Fuente, R&J, Gispert, and SLR and haven't yet spent over $10 for a stick. |

Re: Burnsville - Burn
Other than going into Ed's Tinderbox (Santa Monica, CA) years ago and a few small shops in malls around here Burn has really been the only B&M I've been in, so I've little to compare it to. I really just started smoking cigars "seriously" within the past few months, so long as the weather's been nice I've been brining my sticks home to smoke on the deck while drinking a nice single malt.
I did hang out there and smoke one day, and thoroughly enjoyed myself. There were several guys in there who were very sociable (like meeting folks from here I imagine) and open. I'm assuming I'll find myself doing this a lot more come next winter. Very relaxed atmosphere, and the prices don't seem at all out of line for a B&M. And now that I'm writing this I think I'll probably stop on the way home today. |

Re: Burnsville - Burn
Gimmie a hollar come winter and we'll hook up for a smoke. During the summer, I simply can't be pried away from my deck.

Thanks for providing the info; it gives me an idea for a place to go to the next time I'm up there at home.

Re: Burnsville - Burn
Ahh, nice. Too bad I won't be able to get to any of those. It will be nice for the extra hour, though. A buddy of mine and I like to head there after work sometimes and it can get rushed.

I don't live too far from this place and I didn't even know it existed. Will have to check it out one of these days.

Re: Burnsville - Burn
OK. Since I gave a glowing review to Cigar Jones, I feel a need to be fair to the other stores as well. While the selection at Burn may be a bit thin (they did not have my first, second or third choice), the staff is friendly and understanding. The prices at Burn tended to be slightly higher than elsewhere and the atmosphere was subdued to say the least. While it may not have the vibe that expect from a neighborhood tobacconist, at least they try. Kudos for that.
